Manufacturing process

The translucent porcelain mug is a one-of-a-kind creation. It has beautiful translucence without leaking, and its shine resembles jade. Skilled artisans carefully carve holes and lovely patterns on each mug, following a detailed process that includes sculpting, glazing, washing, bisque firing, and coloring, all supervised by skilled craftsmen. 

Generally speaking, it looks to be formed by many semi-transparent rice-shaped patterns, so also called "Rice Pattern" porcelain. （The product includes some mini light balls, which can be placed inside the mug to enhance its translucency and create a more captivating effect.)

We chose a natural and beautiful gradient color while ensuring the mug shape is practical for everyday use. After finalizing our design concept, we crafted original patterns that combine Western holiday themes with beloved Chinese mythical figures. We then selected a functional mug shape, tested the models, and produced our first set of molds, with production set to begin soon.

We offer a variety of designs, including adorable pandas, the fortune tiger, the brave Monkey King (an oriental superhero),  and festive Christmas reindeer. Each design showcases unique cultural elements while appealing to modern aesthetics.

The manufacturing process is challenging and time-consuming. Even a slight error in carving can cause the mug to leak glaze, preventing the formation of beautiful translucent patterns. We have inherited this craft from our great-grandmother and continuously improve it with modern techniques.

We have conducted multiple rounds of testing on the mug and refined our design. We have now ordered the production tools, and with your support, we can accelerate the production process.

It took us six months of experimentation to perfect the clay formula, and we’ve finally developed a completely natural, eco-friendly, and non-toxic blend. Mugs made from this clay emit a jade-like luster in sunlight. Our relentless pursuit of quality drives everything we do.
